Barbers, bouncing, BBQs and partying in the back of a lorry...Northamptonshire's top lockdown fails!

Police added four more contenders for Northamptonshire's Covidiots of the Year after revealing how people have flouted lockdown laws across the county.

Among the parties, barbecues and days out, stunned officers discovered a barbers in Northampton offering to repair lockdown haircuts for those left looking a little shaggy after seven weeks at home.

And the owners of a trampoline park in the county had unlocked its doors and was allowing people to use the equipment inside.

Police have issued 349 lockdown fines in Northamptonshire and have been generally delighted by people's common sense as they stick to the #StayHomeSaveLives message.

But there are always exceptions, here's our top ten so far ...

1. A 50th birthday bash in the village of Eastcote, between Northampton and Towcester, which allegedly had a marquee, banners, balloons and beer on tap.

2 A VE Day street party involving up to 50 people and bouncy castles in Corby.

3. One Northampton family copped a a VE Day lockdown fine after being caught on a day out, 225 miles from home in WALES!

4. A group of friends arranged to meet up and have a party ... in the back of a lorry!

5. Police who stopped a 20-year-old stopped on the A45 found he was on a jolly up the M1 from Luton on his way to see a mate in Northampton.

6. Owners of a Northampton barber shop were hit with fines after opening up to give people haircuts.

7. One of the county's trampoline parks was opened with the owners allowing people to use the equipment inside.

8. Police gave a group of 35 adults and kids more than a grilling over having a BBQ and playing music during in an open space near Lings Way, Northampton.

9. A man repeatedly making trips to another household to visit his girlfriend .. just like one of the Government's advisors Neil Ferguson.

10. Party-goers In Penrhyn Road, Northampton, were all ticketed after the house owner refused to shut down the shindig.

Find out what you can and cannot do under the new lockdown rules HERE.Ironically, two days after that day-trip to deepest West Wales Prime Minister Boris Johnson relaxed some of the lockdown laws and a trip to the seaside is now OK.

But the PM also increased the minimum fine for those flouting the rules from £60 to £100 with a maximum £3,200 for repeat offenders.

But Superintendent Elliot Foskett, admitted: “We are very lucky in Northamptonshire to have a public who in the main, want to work with us, and realise how important social distancing is.

“There will always be a small minority who seek to break the rules and put other people in danger as a result. Make no mistake we will continue to issue these individuals with fines."
