Another attempted murder charge after four stabbed at Irchester caravan site

A sixth man has been charged after four people were stabbed at a caravan site in Irchester earlier this year.

Edward McDonagh, 20, of Orr Park, Northern Ireland, has been charged with attempted murder and three counts of GBH with intent over the incident in the early hours of New Year's Day at the Gypsy Lane Caravan Park in Gipsy Lane, near Irchester Country Park, which left three men and a woman with stab wounds.

As a result of the attack at about 4.40am one man was taken to University Hospital Coventry with stab wounds to his face and neck and multiple injuries including a broken leg.

The female victim was taken to the same hospital with a stab wound to her torso and two other men were taken to Northampton General Hospital with stab wounds.

Edward McDonagh is the sixth McDonagh to be charged and will face magistrates in Northampton this morning (Monday).

The other men charged in connection are Thomas McDonagh, 24, of Copt Oak Road, Markfield, John Paul McDonagh, 37, of no fixed address, Bernard Joseph McDonagh, 19, of Copt Oak Road, Markfield, Patrick McDonagh, 36, of Copt Oak Road, Markfield and Charlie Christopher McDonagh, 20, of Bescot Croft, Birmingham.
