Court date set for Think Environmental’s smells charge

The trial date for the owners of Blackbridge Farm over an alleged failure to control smells from the site has been set.

Think Environmental, which operates Blackbridge Farm, near Burton Latimer, appeared in Kettering Magistrates Court in March to deny the charge.

A trial has now been set for October 1 to October 5 at Wellingborough Magistrates Court later this year.

Legal proceedings have been brought against the firm by the Environment Agency, which said the company’s actions were in breach of their environmental permit.

It alleges between April 6, 2010, and July 6, 2011, at Blackbridge Farm, the firm failed to ensure emissions from the site were free from odours that were likely to cause pollution.
