Council to clamp down on dog fouling

EXTRA patrols will be carried out by dog wardens and waste management staff across East Northamptonshire to clamp down on dog fouling on streets and paths.

East Northamptonshire Council officers will step up patrols in the worst affected areas, starting with Newton Road in Rushden.

The area has previously suffered from dog fouling and was the setting for a display of colourful posters by children from Newton Road Primary School about the unpleasantness of dog fouling.

The team will issue Fixed Penalty Notices of £75 to anyone they see flouting the law about picking up after their dog. People can anonymously give information of anyone they see or know to be allowing their dog to foul by reporting them online at www.east-northamptonshire.gov.uk/envirocrime or by calling 01832 742026.
