A Corby woman is set to run two East Midlands marathons in aid of St John Ambulance.

Ellen Norris, 55, will be running the Ikano Robin Hood marathon on September 28 and the Leicester marathon on October 26.

She is fundraising on behalf of the charity as she believes in the importance of everyone having life-saving first aid skills.

Ellen has run 16 full marathons and three half marathons and also completed the 62-mile London-to-Brighton marathon earlier this year.

She said: “I started running in 2004. I had always wanted to do the London marathon so when a friend got me a place that was it – I got the marathon bug.”

Ellen, a mother of five, grandmother of 13 and great-grandmother of one, works at The Ocean Fish Bar in Corby.

Anyone who would like to sponsor her marathon challenge can call into the fish and chip shop in Pytchley Court.
