A woman has been hit on the head by a boy who attacked her in her Corby home.

The 49-year-old victim was knocked on the back of the head by the intruder, who could be as young as 12. He ran off after she started shouting at him.

The incident took place in Stephenson Way just before midnight on Saturday, July 19.

Police say nothing appears to have been stolen, but the victim suffered a cut to the head which needed medical treatment.

The offender is described as white, about 5ft 2in with a slim build, pale skin and mousey-blonde to light-brown straight hair.

He was aged between 12 and 16 and was wearing a navy or dark-blue polo-shirt with a motif on the left sleeve and dark tracksuit bottoms.
