Peter Smith, who volunteers at Corby’s Cancer Research charity shop, is to walk around Corby town centre for an hour on February 27 wearing the uncomfortable reflexology shoes.

Assistant manager at the Oasis Retail Park shop Denise Ison said: “We had a load of the shoes donated to the shop and they looked really uncomfortable.

“So Peter decided he’d try and use them to raise some money by volunteering to walk around in them.

“We’re also having a tombola in the store so that we can raise a bit more.”

Anyone wishing to sponsor Peter can do so in the shop.
