MP for Corby Andy Sawford has praised Telegraph reporter Helen O’Neill in Parliament for her coverage of news in the town over the past 43 years.
The MP spoke during a session with Ed Vaizey, Minister for Culture, Communications and Creative Industries, in Parliament this morning.
Mr Sawford said: “After a remarkable 43-year career as a reporter for the Corby Telegraph, Helen O’Neill retires next week.
“Would the minister join me in congratulating her on this achievement.
“She shows the very best that local journalism and local newspapers can be and how much they contribute to local communities.”
Mr Vaizey extended his congratulations to Helen for her commitment and dedication to news coverage in the Corby area and described her work as testament to the fantastic contribution that local newspapers make to communities.
Helen is due to retire next week.
