Whilst several local men were serving in the Royal Navy during the battle, none were among the over 6,000 British lives lost over the two days.

The presentation includes details of the three local men lost at sea during the course of the war.

In addition to the flying of the flag and the display, the Mayor of Corby joined representatives of the Royal British Legion in laying a wreath on Sunday (May 29) at 1pm at the Corby War Memorial to mark the centenary of the battle and the loss of so many lives.
