An organisation which helps young sportsmen and women get off to a flying start has praised Corby golfer Ryan Evans after he reached this year’s Open Championships at Royal Troon.
The Gretton-based Travers Foundation, which offers financial help to 13 to 30-year-olds in Northamptonshire who are pursuing a career in sports or the arts, said Ryan was the first person who received an award from the foundation in 2013.
Chairman Terry Forsey said: “It has been an honour and a privilege watching how he’s developed into a world-class sportsman.”
Ryan finished in 58th place in The Open. Visit www.travers-foundation.org.uk.
