A Corby housing development has welcomed its first newborn, with the arrival of little Lana Maddams.

She joined the thriving Lyveden Fields community in Oakley Vale after her family moved to the development in September last year.

Teachers Jo Maddams, 32, and husband Gary, 33, decided it was time to upgrade their two-bedroom terraced house in Kettering for a four-bedroom detached home in Corby.

Jo said: “Gary had just started working at a school in Corby and we had heard great things about the new Barratt Homes development there, so we decided to take a look. The area had a really nice feel to it and with a park just five minutes down the road, we thought it would be a great place to raise a family.

“Now that we’ve moved in, we couldn’t be happier. Everyone is so welcoming and we have a great relationship with all the Barratt staff. In fact, the first time I left my house with Lana after she was born, I went straight to the sales centre to visit Jo Liddell and the other sales advisers. Lana was less than a week old and Jo was the first person outside of the family to hold her.”

Alison Raine, sales director at Barratt Homes Northampton, said, “We’re really happy that Jo and Gary have settled into their new home at Lyveden Fields and it’s wonderful to welcome the first new-born to this flourishing community.”
