Corby Male Voice Choir was founded back in 1976 and after taking part in more than 560 concerts during this time, it has helped raise more than £300,000 for local good causes.

The choir, which has 32 singers aged from 22 to 87, is gearing up for its tenth concert of the year tomorrow (Saturday) and is hoping that 2018 will be its most successful year for fundraising.

The group is performing at Swayfield Village Hall at 7.30pm tomorrow with proceeds from the raffle going to Prostate Cancer UK.

Since April, the choir has helped to raise more than £3,000 for local charities and more recently, was awarded the Most Inspirational Business Award at the 2018 Corby Business Awards.

Jan Williams, the choir’s director of music, said: “Having made a brilliant start to the choir’s 2018 concert season, to keep concerts fresh the choir is still hard at work learning new repertoire for its continuing concert season, in which three concerts remain.

“Concerts really do appeal to a broad range of musical tastes, featuring light opera to pop music.”

The group is currently recruiting across all voice parts.
