A charity night at Corby Rugby Club, held in memory of long-standing member Archie Lindsay, raised £1,000 for Cynthia Spencer Hospice in Northampton.

Mr Lindsay lost his battle with cancer in December.

Organisers Yvonne Peat and Sue Hall praised staff at the hospice for caring for Mr Lindsay and said they were overwhelmed by the generosity of people at the event, thanking everyone for their support.

There was also a raffle and an auction, with items donated by The Bedford Swan Hotel and The White Swan Restaurant in Woodnewton, and a training top from Leicester Tigers.
