Corby residents whose bins were not collected on Wednesday due to ‘unforeseen circumstances’ will have their bins emptied on Saturday, and an additional bag of rubbish will be collected too.
Following reports on social media of a workers’ strike, the council said Wednesday’s collection service was disrupted.
Although some additional resources were brought in to help with collections around the town, the council said that anyone who does not have their bins emptied by 5pm on Wednesday can put out an additional rubbish bag on Saturday morning (June 27) at 7am for collection alongside their normal bin.
Any more than one additional bag will be treated as side waste and will not be collected.
It adds that people should “utilise any space you have in the bins” for waste produced in the meantime.
