People are being asked for their views on the future of an open space following complaints about ball games being played there.
Residents living near to an open space between Saxon Close and Roman Way in Higham Ferrers have written to the town council to complain about ball games on this particular piece of land.
As this is causing damage and creating a nuisance for those living nearby, a consultation has been launched by Higham Ferrers Town Council to find out what people would like to see there instead.
A spokesman for the town council said: “As it is an area that looks unloved, the council is consulting residents on what they would like to see there to improve it.”
Leaflets have been sent to all residents in Roman Way and Saxon Close, but the consultation is open to anyone who would like to have their say.
The consultation, which is available to view online, states: “The council feels that the area could do with improvement and changes could address the issue of ball games by making it not feasible to play there.
“The council would like your views on what you would like to see there.
“This could range from a community garden, benches, etc.”
