Club backs Linda’s walk for charity

Rodger’s Coaches and The Rotary Club of Corby Phoenix have been in a working partnership for many years.

Within their busy daily schedule Rodger’s have always provided transport for groups of children with special needs who go on a fun trip to Wicksteed Park in Kettering each June.

Linda Rodger, in the company of five of her colleagues, has recently returned from walking the 95-mile West Highland Way from Milngavie on the edge of Glasgow to Fort William at the foot of Ben Nevis to raise sponsorship for the Corb-based children’s charity Windmills.

President of the Rotary Club Mel Jarvis presented Linda with a cheque to add to the sponsorship for the charity being supported by the organisation.

Linda and her fellow walkers have raised the magnificent sum of over £4,000 for the Corby based children’s charity.

She said: “It was the hardest thing I think I’ve ever done.”

Mel said: “We are putting into place a number of initiatives to support children of all ages in recognising and developing their skills and abilities, especially where there might be adversity but especially where there is need, needs that Windmills meets”.
