Classic Dirty Dancing is a big success

IT was the summer of 1963 at Milton Keynes Theatre last week when the stage show Dirty Dancing performed to a packed house.

The show tells the classic love story of Baby and Johnny, who at first glance couldn’t be more different but they fall in love during her summer at Kellerman’s.

It features all the songs we’ve come to love from the film, including Do You Love Me, Hungry Eyes and even the Kellerman’s Anthem.

But, of course, the number everyone was waiting for was the finale, (I’ve Had) The Time Of My Life.

Emily Holt and Paul-Michael Jones, who play Baby and Johnny, brought the infamous dance routine to life on stage to much cheering from the audience and when the time came for the lift everyone erupted.

The quality of dancing throughout was amazing and special mention must go to Charlotte Gooch (Penny), who was incredible.

Dirty Dancing is at Milton Keynes Theatre until May 26.
