Car enthusiasts are in for a treat when Oundle holds its first Classic Sprint.
The cars and motorcycles gathered and paraded through the town on Sunday, December 28, from 10am to 4pm, will definitely deserve star billing.
And what a line-up: elegant, eccentric, cool, classic, memorable, unforgettable, two wheeled and four-wheeled, and all gleaming and geared up for the first Oundle Classic Sprint – an event to fuel-inject plenty of thrilling horsepower into the post-Christmas haze.
Vintage, classic and historic cars and motorcycles will fill the streets and will drive through the picturesque Market Place and down historic North Street, offering great photo opportunities. Vehicle sprints will be set off in categories: Vintage cars and bikes (pre-war); vintage cars and bikes (post-war); historic cars and bikes (1960-1980); classic cars and bikes (1980-2000). To close the event, rally cars of all eras will switch on their headlamps for a frosty twilight parade through the town.
The event is sponsored by Nene Valley Brewery, Lunar Training, Qprep and Oundle Town Council, and all the profits will be donated to charities, mainly Help for Heroes.
