A sponsored sleep-out organised by the community of All Saints Church in Earls Barton will take place on Saturday, July 6, to raise awareness of homelessness and funds for CAN, which provides services for the homeless in Northamptonshire.

People will be sleeping on the ground around All Saints Church in sleeping bags and
cardboard boxes.

The Rev Miranda Hayes of All Saints Church said: “Homelessness is isolating and destructive and leads to social exclusion and marginalization, but together we can make a difference.”

A number of businesses have offered to sponsor the event, including Earls Barton Co-op.

Co-op store manager Michelle Hole said: “The work of CAN is so valuable to people in need of support in Earls Barton and beyond and we are thrilled that we are able to help in this way. “The sleep-out will be a real eye-opener for myself and the rest of the team taking part, but we hope to gather the support of our friends, family and customers and raise some fantastic funds to keep this vital service running.”
