Christians to gather for walks of witness in Corby, Kettering, Rushden, Wellingborough and Oundle

Several walks of witness are scheduled for Good Friday, April 3, many organised by Churches Together.

In Corby people will meet at The Church of the Epiphany in Elizabeth Street ready to start walking at 12.30pm to the town centre.

The walk will finish outside Boots, Queen’s Square, where from 1pm until 3pm events will include children’s activities, a gospel choir and two short drama performances of the Easter story, at 1pm and 2pm.

In Kettering there are several walks starting at different parts of the town converging on Gold Street. At 10.15am parades will leave Christ the King Church, Deeble Road, and Rockingham Road Baptist Church.

Another walk will leave St Edward’s Church, London Road, at 10.45am with walkers setting out from Central Methodist Church and Ss Peter and Paul’s, culminating in an open air service at 11.15am outside the Toller Church.

Wellingborough’s walk of witness starts from Broad Green at 10am and makes a circuit around the town centre via High Street, Oxford Street, Church Street and Cannon Street, finishing in the town centre with a service starting at about 11am.

Rushden’s faithful will congregate outside the Weslyan Church in High Street for a service at 10.30am.

Processions leave churches around the town including Whitefriars at 9.30am.

In Oundle the churches’ processions will arrive at 11am for a service in Market Place.

Desborough’s walk of witness meets outside Revive Coffee Shop, Station Road at 11am.
