Children can make a movie at theatre

Children from eight to 14 are being given the opportunity to find out about film-making and produce their own short movie in just a week.

The Core theatre at Corby is holding a film-making course from Tuesday, July 24, to Friday, July 27.

Youngsters who take part can let their creativity soar, learning new skills and making new friends.

Over the four days, they will develop their ideas for their film, find a location, plan their shoot, learn camera skills, and find out how to edit a final cut, under the guidance of professional film-maker Martin Steed.

Everyone who takes part in the project will be invited, along with their family and friends, to watch a premiere screening of the finished film, shortly after the end of the project.

Mr Steed said: “This project provides a great opportunity to learn some fascinating new skills and find out what really goes into making a film, following the whole process through from start to finish. What better way to start the school holidays?”

Film In A Week sessions will run from 10am until 4pm on all four days.

It costs £60 to take part and places can be booked by calling 01536 470470.
