Charity fun day for Wellingborough's Niamh's Next Step today

A charity set up in memory of a little girl who lost her fight with childhood cancer neuroblastoma is holding a family fun day today.

People of all ages are invited to join in the fun at the event for Niamh’s Next Step taking place between 11am and 5pm at the Pro-Action Academy in Osyth Close on Brackmills, Northampton, today (Saturday, July 2).

Special guests showing their support for the charity set up in memory of Niamh Curry from Wellingborough will include WBO middleweight champion Billy Joe Saunders, Irish lightweight champion Peter McDonagh and Jamie Moore, who will be launching his new autobiography.

Also joining in the fun and games will be Bernie, the mascot for Northampton Saints.

Other attractions on offer at the fun day will be a bouncy castle, face painting, stocks, stalls, competitions and demonstrations.

Niamh’s Next Step was set up as a lasting legacy to Niamh who lost her 18-month battle with neuroblastoma aged just five in May 2012.

Since then, her mum and dad Sam and Chris Curry have been raising awareness of neuroblastoma as well as raising money to fund vital research into the disease which is not currently funded by the NHS or the Government.
