Charity aims to bag extra cash with its
latest appeal

Willow Place shopping centre at Corby has joined forces with the British Heart Foundation to launch the charity’s Bag It Beat It campaign.

Residents are being urged to fill bags with unwanted items to raise funds to help babies born with congenital heart disease. Corby mayor Anthony Dady will officially launch the appeal when he donates the first bag of items at midday on Saturday.

During the weekend volunteers will be handing out stock donation bags and asking people to fill them with unwanted clothes, shoes, books, handbags, DVDs, CDs, bric-a-brac and children’s toys then take them to the charity’s shop in Corporation Street. Its area manager, Amanda Simpson, said: “Unwanted items will raise vital life-saving funds.”
