More than 20 charities will set out their stalls against a back-drop of dance performances at a community fair.
Kettering Centre for the Unemployed’s (KCU) charity fair will take place at Kettering’s Market Place for the first time on Saturday, June 9.
At least 25 charity and community groups have signed up for the event, which will also feature performances from Starlight Dance, Mirra Image and Solid Fuel.
KCU volunteer Maggie Don said: “This is the first time we’ve held the fair in two years, so we’ve got a lot planned and hopefully it will bring a bit of life into that area of the town.
“The last time we held the fair, I was told we had 2,000 people come and look round in the first few hours, so we’d love to get similar numbers down.
“It’s a great opportunity for the charities to raise some money and raise awareness. We’re still able to squeeze more stalls in if anyone is interested though.”
Charities which have signed up for the event include Cransley Hospice, Animals In Need, Alzheimer’s Society, and local brownie, scouts and guides groups.
Starlight Dance will be performing three times at the event, which is where it all started for the group.
Prinicipal Jacc Batch said: “When we performed at the fair in 2010, it was our first performance in public, so it’s going to be special for us.
“We’re going to perform pieces from our World Parade dance and also we’ll be showcasing some street dancing.
“We were delighted to be asked and are really looking forward to it.”
The group will perform at 11am, 1pm and 3pm.
There will also be a bouncy castle, face painting and hair braiding for children, as well as craft stalls.
The fair is to run from 10am to 4pm. To book a stall at the fair call 07704 541106.
