Wellingborough residents are being reminded about changes to their bin collection days over the Christmas period.
The council said it will mean putting their bins out a day later than normal for most homes – with some collections taking place on Saturdays.
There will be no collections on Christmas Day or Boxing Day, so bin men will work from Thursday to Saturday to make sure all bins are emptied.
Residents due to have their bins collected on Christmas Day should put them out on Thursday 27 December.
Bins due to be collected on Wednesday, December 26, Thursday, December 27, and Friday, December 28, should be put out the following day instead.
There are also no collections on New Year’s Day, meaning the teams will work from the Wednesday of that week through to the Saturday. So all residents with a bin collection due on Tuesday, January 1, through to Friday, January 4, should put their bins out a day later than normal.
Brown bin collections will pause for a few weeks over Christmas, starting again the week of either January 7 or 14, depending on where residents live.
If there are any disruptions to the bin collection service over Christmas due to snow or icy weather conditions, the council’s website will be updated with advice.
