A DVD of the Queen’s visit to Corby last year as part of her Diamond Jubilee tour of the UK is now on sale.
The Queen came to Corby on June 13 and the commemorative DVD shows footage of her greeting the crowds who showed up in their thousands to enjoy the royal visit, as well as the amazing performances put on inside the town’s swimming pool and The Core theatre at the Cube.
The DVD costs £2.50 and is available at the Corby Cube and the swimming pool.
All profits from its sale will go to the mayor Judy Caine’s chosen charities.
Leader of Corby Council, Cllr Tom Beattie, said: “It’s hard to believe that a year has already passed since the Queen visited Corby and what better way to mark the anniversary than by allowing people to relive the special day and keep the memory for years to come. We also want this to be a chance for those who didn’t get to watch the performances inside the swimming pool and the Cube, or who didn’t get up close to the action outside to experience the visit from start to finish.
“This was a very proud day for Corby and again we thank all of those involved in making it happen and of course everyone who came out to support and be part of this very special occasion.”
