Teenage golf star Charley Hull joined Corby’s deputy mayor, Cllr Anthony Dady, at Priors Hall Golf Course to unveil the town’s first golf simulator.
The Club, off Stamford road, recently installed the equipment to help local golfers improve their game.
The simulator features a total of 45 real courses from around the world, is available from 7am until late and costs just £20 and hour.
To celebrate the launch of the equipment, Priors Hall Golf Club is offering the use of the simulator for £15 an hour until January.
Corby Council’s lead member for community, Cllr John McGhee, said: “This new equipment is a great addition to Priors Hall Golf Club and I’m sure people will definitely enjoy trying out the courses like St Andrews they have on the system. The simulator will ensure that all of those eager golfers will be able to continue improving their swing throughout the winter months and if they haven’t got time to do a whole round of golf then they can quickly pop in and still hit some balls.”
Charley, who was first introduced to golf aged two and began playing with her father at Kettering Golf Club, added: “The new golf simulator is brilliant, especially through the winter when the green is frosty as it gives you a warm place to practice your swing. Using the equipment, I could see that the data is really accurate and was giving out the right yardages.
“Everyone will be able to benefit from the simulator but it is especially good for beginners. They will really be able to improve their swing just by seeing how the ball travels on the screen.”
