A pub was packed out as more than 100 people raised a glass to the 23-year-old Corby man who died in a crash last week.

After police named the crash victim as Neil Watson on Friday, dozens of old school friends, work colleagues, and his family got together at the town’s Open Hearth pub in Studfall Avenue to celebrate his life.

Bucket collections were at the pub to raise cash for his family.

Organiser Robbie Dunion, 24, of Chesil Walk, Corby, said: It was a brilliant turnout and it showed what kind of guy he was.

“He would have loved it.

“He was never was the quiet guy in the corner – he was the life and soul of the party.”

The fatal accident happened at about 8am on Wednesday, October 3, in Gretton Brook Road at the junction with Phoenix Parkway, Corby, and involved a Rodger’s coach and a motorcycle.

Mr Watson died at the scene.
