The ‘Brilliant Birds’ event is being organised by the Wildlife Trust and will take place during half term at St Peter’s Church from 10.30am to 12.30pm on Friday, February 19.

It will celebrate the birds which come to visit the Nene Valley for the winter months, as well as highlighting how everyone can help the birds which visit their gardens too.

Education and community manager for the Wildlife Trust Louise Tuffin said: “The Nene Valley is internationally important for its bird populations, and winter is when our wetlands truly come alive, with all kinds of migrant birds spending the season here.

“Our event encourages families to come along and find out more about the birds of the area, and also have a go at some activities to help their own garden birds too, such as making a bird feeder to take home.

“We hope that lots of people will be able to join us.”

The event costs £2.50 per person or £6 per family to attend, and is a drop-in session with no booking required.
