A catalytic converter has been taken from a van parked in a Corby car park.

The device, which controls a vehicle’s toxic emissions, was stolen from the vehicle in Harlech Close, Corby, some time between Wednesday, September 11 and Saturday, September 28.

The whole exhaust system – which includes the catalytic converter – was removed from a white Mercedes Sprinter van, which was parked in a communal car park.

Last month, Northamptonshire Police issued a warning after a spate of catalytic converter thefts.

Two men were seen nearby around midnight on Sunday, September 22. They are described as white, slim, about 5ft 7in and in their early 20s. They were both dressed in black clothing.

Witnesses to this incident, or anyone with any information, are asked to call Northamptonshire Police on 101. Alternatively, information can be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
