Robert Wharton from the museum said: “We have had quite a lot of people interested in researching the names of the children, but we may hear nothing more.

“I would like to see it extended to short biographies as to what happened in the children’s lives.

“There are several Wellingborough names here and I like making connections, such as which schools they went to and where they worked would be a start.”

Anyone who can identify any of the people in the picture or has information about the occasion itself can call Wellingborough Museum on 01933 276838.
