Camera tips with Beck Photographic of Wellingborough

Try this artistic effect called a crash zoom.

You can try hand-holding your camera for this, but a tripod or support may give you better results.

Use a shutter in the range of 1/8 to 1 second, and during the exposure zoom your lens.

This works with many different subjects, and looks particularly artistic if you try this at night with some bright coloured lights as your subject.

Start zooming your lens slightly before you open the shutter, and continue until slightly after you have shut the shutter.

You will notice the effect more at the edges of your image, and the centre will be less affected.
