Big hearted bosses at Ladbrokes are giving the Northants Telegraph a £100 charity bet to celebrate the launch of their new store in Kettering - with the potential winnings going towards Cransley Hospice.
The new store on High Street, Kettering, opens on Saturday and the bookmakers have given us the chance to win money for the charity, so we are looking for your hot tips.
Di Patrick, fundraising manager at Cransley Hospice, said: “It is really great and we are honoured to be the local charity who Ladbrokes have chosen to benefit on their opening day.
“To give you some idea, Cransley Hospice needs £100 every hour of every day to keep running. Ladbrokes have told us that even if the bet looses then they will still donate the £100 directly to us, so even in that scenario we will be funded to run for an extra hour.
“But if we do win and somebody tips a 4/1 horse, for instance, and we get £400 then we can run the hospice for four hours, which would be great.”
Our reporter Danny Mitchell will be placing the bet early on Saturday afternoon and he would like to hear from you so as much money can be raised for the hospice as possible.
We are looking for tips on horses racing between midday and 3pm on Saturday and, if we are lucky enough to back the winning nag, then the winnings will be presented to the hospice later that afternoon by darts legend Bobby George.
Bobby George, who is known as ‘Bobby Dazzler,’ will be at the store from midday on Saturday and he will also be there to meet and greet people.
If we do not place the winning bet then Ladbrokes will still donate the £100 to the charity.
