An art gallery in Rothwell is urging more people to go and discover the treasured work of local artists.
Bridge Street Gallery, in Rothwell Arts and Heritage Centre, is holding a four-week open exhibition of art work until March 30.
It is a chance for nine artists from the local area to showcase their work.
Co-ordinator Christine Cocksedge said: “We’d like to see more people come and have a look at the work – I think they will be surprised, some of the work is excellent.
“As well as being on view for the public to see, much of the work is also for sale.”
The gallery was opened in the Bridge Street venue in 2004.
It was created when bosses at the arts and heritage centre secured the building.
The gallery is on the top floor of the centre and has two rooms.
Ms Cocksedge said: “We’d love more volunteers so we could be open for longer hours.”
