Shoppers in Wellingborough are being asked to buy an extra gift to make sure a child has a present under the tree on Christmas Day.

The Swansgate Shopping Centre has once again teamed up with Home-Start to launch The Giving Tree.

We hope shoppers will support us again this Christmas

Now in its tenth year, family charity Home-Start is collecting gifts for children in the Wellingborough area with The Giving Tree at the shopping centre.

Shoppers can select a tag from the tree with a suggested gift idea, buy the gift from a store in the Swansgate before attaching the tag and posting it in the drop box in the centre.

The gifts will then be distributed by Home-Start in the community, brightening up the festive period for those less fortunate who may not receive a present this year.

Swansgate centre manager Lindsay Tickner said: “We are thrilled to be partnering with Home-Start again this year, supporting those in need in our community.

“The response we’ve had from shoppers in previous years has been overwhelming, and we hope shoppers will support us again this Christmas.”

Home-Start helps families with young children all around the UK.

They support them with advice and help as they learn to cope, improve their confidence and build better lives for their children.
