As part of the building of the A43 Corby Link Road, work is due to start on a new roundabout to the south of the Barford Railway
In order to build the roundabout a contraflow system will be introduced on part of the A6003 between Corby and Kettering on Saturday, November 24, and will run until May 2013.
To prepare for the contraflow, the northbound carriageway (Kettering to Corby) of the A6003 will be closed overnight from 8pm on Friday, November 23, to 6am on Saturday, November 24, between the Kettering North Business Area traffic lights and the Oakley Hay roundabout on the A6003/A6014 junction. All diversion routes will be signed.
The contraflow will be in operation on the northbound carriageway of the A6003. Those travelling from Kettering to Corby will be restricted to the inside lane, between the southern and northern crossover points (the Grange Road turning to Geddington and opposite Storefield Cottages respectively). For those travelling southbound from Corby towards Kettering, a lane restriction will be in place and they will be diverted off the southbound carriageway at the northern crossover.
Access to and from Rushton will be restricted to left in and left out, with no right turns across the Rushton junction with the A6003.
Access to and from Newton Road and Grange Road will be restricted to left in and left out, with no right turn from or on to the A6003 Northbound.
The work will last for about 16 weeks and will remain in place during the Christmas period.
