A Kettering businessman will spend eight days tackling a trek across a section of the Sahara desert for charity.

Russell Golding, owner of Kettering-based Recognition Express Home Counties North, will be taking part in the 150-mile trek to raise £3,000 for UK charity, WellChild.

Recognition Express has previously raised funds for WellChild and Mr Golding wants to help boost that total.

In 2010 Russell completed a 10-day trek to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, and each year a team of Recognition Express franchisees take on a team of soap stars in a football match for the charity.

Mr Golding said: “Following my successful, and life-changing, climb to the summit of Kilimanjaro, I made a personal commitment to become more involved in charity challenges and specifically for Wellchild.”
