Unemployment has dropped across the north of the county, the latest jobless figures have suggested.
The number of people claiming jobseeker’s allowance (JSA) hit a five-month low in Corby and Kettering in May, and reached its lowest level since January in Wellingborough and East Northants since January.
The JSA claimaint level now stands at 5.2 per cent in Corby, 4.7 per cent in Wellingborough, 3.8 per cent in Kettering and 2.8 per cent in East Northants.
A total of 8,116 people in the north of the county claimed JSA in May 2013, down 215 month-on-month and 25 lower than in May 2012.
But the East Midlands (3.5 per cent) and Great Britain (3.6 per cent) still outperform three of the local authorities in north Northamptonshire.
