THOUSANDS of bargain hunters will descend on a leisure park for a clothing retailer’s clearance sale.
Clothing company Boden will be at Wicksteed Park’s Pavilion in Kettering for a huge sale next month.
The retailer has held an annual sale at the park for several years, and next month it will hold a two-day mammoth event for shoppers to pick up bargains.
John Roberts, managing director of Wicksteed Park, said: “Every year, it’s the biggest event we have on at the Pavilion.
“There are always masses of people waiting to get into the sale on both days, and although the sale usually takes place in the winter it reminds me of a popular summer’s day – it’s usually that busy.
“In previous years, we’ve had around 2,000 to 3,000 people coming to the sale over the duration of both days.
“Especially with the current state of the economy, the sale will give people a chance to pick up some real bargains of quality stuff.
“We’d encourage people to come down as early as possible because we expect to be busy.”
The sale is taking place from 10am to 7pm on Wednesday, February 8.
It will also be held from 10am to 4pm on the following day at the park, in Barton Road.
Boden events manager Caroline Owen Lloyd said: “On the first day we usually have an absolute sea of people. It’s extraordinary.
“People will be able to pick up some unbelievable bargains at the sale, with up to 70 per cent off stock.
“We’re expecting 3,000 people, with the majority coming on the first day, so if you prefer your shopping quieter, come on the second date.
“We’ve always had a really successful sale at Wicksteed Park and its always been very busy.
“We hope for the same again.”
Admission to the event will be free.
