The job market across the East Midlands is continuing to impress, says a county recruitment firm.
Macildowie has reported a 797 per cent year-on-year increase in the number of new sales and marketing jobs it has filled.
And the Northampton agency has also appointed of four new members of staff, including a new associate director.
Kelvin Locke will head up the sales and marketing division at Macildowie, and as associate director will sit on the company’s nine-strong leadership team.
A graduate of Loughborough University, Kelvin has 10 years’ experience recruiting sales and marketing professionals, covering all areas of the country.
As the result of such a successful start to 2014, Susie Barnes, Alicia Buchanan and Max Dosad have also joined Macildowie as talent pipeline specialists.
The new starters will all be joining the Macildowie Talent Pool, an in-house training scheme that takes new starters with no recruitment experience, and trains them in specialist areas of the business.
Chief executive of Macildowie James Calder said: “It’s been a great year for the sales and marketing division.
“To see such an impressive increase in the number of candidates we are placing is a sign of the regional economy continuing to find its feet.
“Following years of protecting budgets, business owners are again feeling confident and looking to invest in staff that can grow their company.
“Sales and marketing positions are the obvious starting place, with digital marketing skills being in particularly high demand.
“I am looking forward to working with the new team members and am very pleased to welcome Kelvin to join our leadership team as an associate director.”
