A rapidly growing design and print company in Wellingborough is poised to see turnover hit a record £10 million as it celebrates its 20th anniversary.

Print Data Solutions, in Park Farm, was set up by Nick Shelton equipped with just a phone and fax and producing simple business stationery.

Two decades later, the company employs 40 staff, is heading towards its best annual turnover of £10 million and manufactures sophisticated video brochures as part of a range of design, print and fulfilment services.

It was named as one of the ‘1,000 Companies to Inspire Britain’ in 2016 by the London Stock Exchange.

Mr Shelton said: “We nurtured a small base of specialist print suppliers so they always had a realistic chance of winning our business.

“From the start, I have worked on the principle the best business relationships are based on fairness and trust.

“The business model was based on prompt payment of suppliers and that is how we work to this day.”

Mr Shelton took his first order on September 21, 1998, for £540. After 12 months, turnover reached £240,000 but that soared to £5 million by 2011. Mr Shelton said the company is still expanding with a state-of-the-art design studio in development.
