About 25 jobs will go by the end of the year at a travel agent’s Kettering office, it has been announced.
International Cruise and Excursions (ICE), a company based in the United States, has revealed plans to close its offices in Kettering and Cork.
It intends to shift its focus in the United Kingdom and Ireland to its European headquarters in Stanmore, London.
Staff at the Kettering office, in Kettering Parkway, work in the call centre as well as administration and management.
In a statement, Warren Joy, senior vice-president at ICE, said his company would give staff in Kettering the chance to relocate to the capital, but admitted he was not expecting anybody to take up the offer. He said: “We’ve offered some new roles to staff at Kettering and a relocation package.
But he added: “Kettering is about two hours from Stanmore so I’m not really expecting anyone to make the move.”
The Telegraph called at ICE’s Kettering offices this week but no member of staff was willing to comment.
There was also no response to a request for more information from ICE’s head office in Arizona.
