Help for young unemployed

Tresham College in Wellingborough is teaming up with Jobcentre Plus Wellingborough and the town’s MP, Peter Bone, to launch the Experience Wellingborough project.

Experience Wellingborough aims to increase the employability of young people aged 18 to 24 in and around the town by helping them secure work placements with businesses in the town for a minimum of two weeks.

On Friday, September 26, employers will be joined by staff from Tresham and Jobcentre Plus to speak to young people who have been out of employment or training and are looking to gain vital work experience to enhance their CV and help raise their self-confidence for their job search. Following an informal chat, work experience placements will be offered from as early as October.

The matching event is open to anyone aged 18 to 24 who is out of work and training and will be held from 1pm until 3pm at Tresham College of Further and Higher Education’s Church Street campus.
