Willow Place shopping centre could soon have some new names trading there, according to its retail agents.

The new owners of Willow Place and Oasis Retail Park, Sovereign Land and Europa Capital, have decided to keep the centres’ retail agents, Innes England and Savills.

And Innes England said it is talking to possible new occupiers, including local independent traders.

Innes England was originally appointed by the previous owners, Helical Bar, in June 2014, and has already increased annual income by more than £150,000 and introduced six new retail names to the town.

The firm will also be advising on an area of the town centre scheme which is set for development, identifying target retailers to maximise the town’s potential.

Paul Watson, director at Innes England in Leicester, said: “Since being appointed by the scheme’s previous owners last summer, we have taken significant strides towards improving the retail offering in Corby and are very pleased to be able to continue that work.

“Corby is a growing town. More than 160,000 shoppers visit Corby town centre each week and this is set to improve as we continue to enhance the already strong retail presence in the town.”

Ben Taylor is head of retail agency at the firm and works with Mr Watson.

He said: “Corby is a vibrant town centre, with a great mix of retailers including H&M, Primark and TK Maxx and we are excited to have been instructed by Sovereign Land to continue to market the retail offering here.

“We have already signed up a number of new brands and have been working closely with the local independent retailers as well as other new names to further enrich what the town has to offer.”

Innes England acts for retailers including Greggs, Costa Coffee franchisees and Multiyork across the region and nationally. The company has recently been named as the Most Active Agent in the East Midlands for the eighth year in a row in the Estates Gazette Interactive 2014 deals competition, after completing more than two deals per working day during the year.

Helical Bar sold Willow Place and the Oasis Retail Park earlier this year.

They were sold to Europa Capital Partners and Sovereign Land for £71.7m.

Helical Bar had owned Willow Place since October 2011.
