Burger chain applies for premises licence at Rushden Lakes

Five Guys confirmed earlier this year that it would be opening a restaurant as part of phase two of the multi-million retail and leisure development just off the A45.

The new eaterie will be part of the west terrace, which will contain numerous other food and drink outlets and is near to the multi-screen cinema currently being built.

In preparation for welcoming customers through the doors, Five Guys JV Limited has applied to East Northants Council for a premises licence for unit three in the west terrace.

It is proposing to licence these premises to sell alcohol from 10am to midnight Monday to Sunday and to provide late night refreshment from 11pm to 12.30am Monday to Sunday.

It also wants to have opening hours of 7am to 12.30am Monday to Sunday.

Anyone who wants to comment on the application has until October 29 to do so.

This can be done by contacting the licensing department at East Northants Council.

Five Guys was established in Virginia in 1986 by the Murrell family and its first UK restaurant opened in Covent Garden in 2013.

Five Guys offers handcrafted burgers grilled to order and its fries are hand-cut each morning.

All ingredients are sourced locally and customers can find out which farm the beef and potatoes have come from by checking out the restaurant’s notice board.

When Five Guys opens at Rushden Lakes, it will be joining the likes of Wagamama, Bill’s, Wildwood, Pizza Express, Jamaica Blue, Bewiched and Patisserie Valerie which are already serving food and drink to customers at Rushden Lakes.

A spokesman for Five Guys has said the new restaurant will be opening ‘around December’ this year and will seat 82 people.
