A businesswoman from Bozeat is on a prestigious list of people who support young entrepreneurs.
The Maserati/Centre for Entrepreneurs 100 list includes names such as Dragons’ Den star Peter Jones, celebrity hairdresser John Freida and Sir Richard Branson, and Rachel Mallows, of The Mallows Company.
The list is described as “the definitive list of Britain’s most successful business leaders actively supporting the next generation of entrepreneurs”.
The citation for Rachel reads: “Mallows is the founder of the Mallows Company, a business services firm. She is also the founder of the Made in Northamptonshire network, which offers advice and contacts to Northamptonshire food and drinks companies. Mallows, 52, also offers executive coaching to local entrepreneurs.”
She said: “It was a total shock. I had no idea I had been nominated. It was one of our Made in Northamptonshire start-ups, The Incredible Bakery Company, who put me forward. When I received an email congratulating me I thought it was a wind-up.
“I contacted the Centre for Entrepreneurs and told them it was a bit bonkers that I was on the list with the likes of Sir Richard Branson and they told me they wanted a cross-section of people who help young and start-up businesses.
“It is really exciting and I’m deeply humbled. Now I’m thinking how I can use this to help more young and start-up businesses in the county.
“I am, however, deeply disappointed that I don’t get a Maserati.”
