Burglars steal jewellery during raid on Northampton home

Two men broke into a house in Northampton, grabbed a jewellery stand and fled, police have revealed.

A spokesman for Northamptonshire Police said the raid happened in Watermeadow Drive, Northampton, yesterday evening (Thursday, February 23).

"The burglary happened at about 9.45pm, when the offenders smashed the glass of the patio door after gaining access to the back garden through a side gate.

"The householder was in the house at the time and as she confronted the men, one of them pushed past her, grabbed a jewellery stand and ran back out of the house and garden, through the side gate," the spokesman said.

One of the men is described as white, about 5ft 8in, with a skinny build and in his early 20s. He had short blond hair and was wearing a sand-coloured camouflage jacket.
