BREAKING NEWS: Area of Northamptonshire industrial estate sealed off as medics treat illegal immigrants found in lorry

An area of an industrial estate in Northampton has been closed off to the public after “concerns about the medical condition” of a number of illegal immigrants found in a lorry.

A spokesman for Northamptonshire Police said a group of illegal immigrants are currently being treated by the ambulance service at the Decathlon depot in Caswell Road on the Brackmills Industrial estate, Northampton.

The spokesman said: “Officers were called to the Brackmills Industrial Estate just before 2pm today following reports of a number of illegal immigrants being discovered in the back of a lorry.

“Because of concerns about the medical condition of the people in the vehicle, they are now being assessed by the ambulance service at the scene.

“The area where the lorry is contained has been closed off to the public as a precaution while investigations continue.”
