The silence of Rothwell’s Holy Trinity Church has been broken by the sound of bells but they weren’t the usual chimes from the belfry.
Braybrooke Morris Dancers entertained guests dressed as nobles and peasants at a fundraising charity medieval dinner held in the church.
Guests in their finery were invited to join the team to learn the flying stick dance ‘Constant Billy’.
The side gave demonstrations of hankie and stick dances after which David Ball gave a brief history of morris dancing
Diners tucked into meaty soup and bread followed by a recital of medieval music and song by Alan Hewitt.
All proceeds from the trip back to the middle ages will go to church funds.
