The last meeting of the Wellingborough branch of Arthritis Research UK has been held.
Members were presented with certificates of appreciation from the national organisation for their support over the years.
A total of 12 members were serving on the committee, including Pat Curzon, Freda Saxby and Peggy Hooton, all founder members of the group formed in 1978. Joyce Gordon was chairman and Jan Kodkowski was treasurer.
The decision to close the branch came when “age, ill health and lack of new members takes too much of a toll”.
Mrs Hooton said: “Our thanks go to everyone who has supported us over the past 34 years.”
